The life of a funeral director isn’t easy. You’re on call all the time. You work weekends and long days. You’re often short-staffed and in high demand. Maintaining a semblance of sanity and energy seems like a fantasy.
We are often told to get better at time management, be more organized and do a better job finding the willpower to push through the day. But that feels impossible to do. If it were easy and seemingly possible, we would have done it by now. The advice is appreciated but not helpful.
However, in my years of working with high-performing individuals and teams, there is a faster, more effective way to make your day productive and enjoyable. If you want to accomplish more, feel less exhausted, and have a sense of enjoyment in all that you do, simply follow this rule: manage your energy, not your time.
